The Airex Industries portable dust collector can be used in applications where a fixed station is not appropriate. Two models of portable dust collector are available, offering you a variety of volumes.
With the aid of a self-supporting capture arm, airborne particulates are removed from the worker’s breathing zone. An automatic cleaning system, using compressed air that is blown through the filter in the reverse direction, dislodges smoke and dust from the filter cartridge. The solid pollutants are then collected in a dust drawer and manually emptied periodically. The self-cleaning system can be activated manually or automatically (available option), maintaining (preserving/sustaining/conserving/keeping/upholding) the unit’s performance without excessive maintenance.
The portable dust collector are suitable for most types of dust and air contaminants ranging from large amounts of coarse dust and chips to medium amounts of mixed dust with large shavings or even lighter amounts of fine dust. These units feature a top mounted arm capable of doing a 360-degree rotation for collecting particles, provide an efficient alternative to expensive general ventilation and can remove contaminants in almost any shop environment.

How the PDC Series Portable Dust Collector work
The dust-laden gases enter through the specially designed intake of the portable dust collector under vacuum.
The gases are then filtered through the cartridges, and exit through the venturis, into the clean air plenum. The clean air is then recirculated.
The automatic cleaning system operates as follows:
Short pulses of compressed air are injected through calibrated orifices in the blow tubes, into the venturis. The small primary flow of air through the venturis generates a much larger secondary flow of clean air from the plenum. The combined airflow creates a downward moving pressure wave that breaks the accumulated dust cake on the cartridges.
Selection Criteria for a PDC Series Portable Dust Collector:
Two base models of the portable dust collector are offered.
PDC-1 – 1 worker
PDC 3 – Strong enough to accommodate the upgrade to a 2 worker station and has the possibility to be fitted with an additional capture arm.
